Lived where I worked... the amount of hours I was to working

What I wish was different

Have the opportunity to go home more often or ability to work my work as a research assistant on campus when asked to but I couldn’t because I would be working “too many hours”

Advice

If you have other things that you want to explore and do that you really don’t want to miss then I don’t suggest this job. I had to turn down many amazing things to work here.

What I liked

I really liked the experience I have been receiving through this because not only am I learning a lot by the process of doing literature reviews, entering data, writing research papers, etc., but I am also learning a lot from the actual findings that help me understand certain topics more so than I did previously.

What I wish was different

There is nothing I can think of that I would wish to be different- possibly just that it was paid because of needing money for rent and tuition!

Advice

I highly recommend being an undergraduate research assistant because it gives you a ton of experience, it looks super good on a resume, you form amazing bonds with the professors you are working with, and you are playing a part in research that could change lives!

What I liked

I liked the flexibility of hours. I also enjoyed that I could listen to music or podcasts while I completed my hours. My employer is also very friendly and helpful.

What I wish was different

I wish the work was more spread out over the course of the summer instead of crammed within a few weeks.

Advice

The work staff is very friendly and flexible in regards to work hours and vacation time.
